The Theatre Park is a popular gathering place for citizens, located in the heart of the city, in front of the Ivan pl. Zajc Croatian National Theatre and facing the city market. It was created in 1875 by land reclamation and following its recent reconstruction its historical features in the classical and Art Nouveau style were restored and enriched by modern elements.
The most interesting thing about the park is surely the 9 rose trees that have found their habitat in the park and have been given “musical” and “theatrical” names: Charleston, Hendel, Concerto, Concertino, Conductor, Solo, Prima ballerina, Maria Callas and Ballet. The park has won the “Blue Flower” award for the most beautiful park in Croatia.
